The Verdeliss family was in the middle of a beautiful project, the creation and design of their new home, where the whole family can enjoy a space in which to dream and create memories. When they decided to contact us so that we could advise them in the creation of their garden.
From the beginning they wanted it to be a playground for their children, where they could enjoy the outdoors and use it continuously, even for family dinners if the weather permitted. In addition to the grass having a natural look, their main concern was that it would recover well and not be flattened in two days.
After studying the use they wanted to give to the turf, as well as the location of the installation, in the north of Spain, in Albergrass we knew which two turfs were the most suitable for their situation: Melange Arena II or Aberdeen II, both within our High Tech category.
Both options provided good results for the family’s intended use of the garden. They are two of our best lawns, and it shows when you compare them to others. With that in mind, the Verdeliss family’s task was to choose the one they liked best aesthetically.
Here we entered into a big dilemma, as Aritz was more in favor of the Aberdeen II for its performance, while Estefi preferred the look of the Melange Arena II, for many the one that looks more natural.
In order to better advise the family on the design of the garden, we had the collaboration of Mus Paisajismo, one of our Albergrass Approved Installers, to review the land and make a landscape study for the distribution of the rest of the elements of the garden, such as trees, plants and flowers. And, although the family wanted to do without the trees that were already in the garden, Mus’s advice was to leave them as they would give an accent and a certain character to the garden.
After much thought the Verdeliss family decided to follow Mus’s advice on trees and other garden elements. And, as for the grass, after a final conversation with us they decided on Albergrass Aberdeen II for its color and performance.
Why Aberdeen II?
One of our first reasons for choosing this grass was for its color and aesthetics. Interestingly, we have noticed that the color of Aberdeen II is preferred by people in the north, perhaps because its green is more vivid and reminds them of the greenery in the north of the country.
In addition to its color and aesthetics, other reasons for choosing the Aberdeen II were:
- It has the Feelgood® technology technology, which retains less of the sun’s heat, resulting in a cooler lawn on hot summer days.
- It also incorporates the Natural look® which minimizes reflections for a more natural looking turf.
- Finally, it also incorporates Instant Recovery® technology technology, which offers the best foot strike recovery on the market.
The long-term footprint recovery of Aberdeen II may have been the feature that tipped the balance in favor of this turf, in addition to the color preference.
The installation of the Verdeliss garden
Although we had a couple of rainy days that delayed the work, our team worked hard to finish the garden for the arrival of the good weather.
Site preparation was a crucial part, as it is in any facility, to achieve the best long-term results.
This work required special attention to the rock planters containing the trees as well as the perimeter areas and joints. Manual, almost artisanal work was required to ensure that everything fits tightly and looks natural.
The end result could not be more spectacular, a green and safe space for children’s play, as well as welcoming for other outdoor family activities.
