Buy the lawn
Before buying the rolls of grass, measure well the surface you want to cover to know how many meters you need.
Spread the rolls on the cement
Before starting, make sure the concrete surface is clean and level.
Make sure there are no small stones that could get under the lawn and cause discomfort.
The first step to install artificial turf on concrete is to spread the rolls over the entire surface to be covered.
Mowing the lawn
Once you have spread the rolls, you must make the appropriate cuts with scissors or a cutter and remove the excess artificial turf.
Obstacles such as columns, steps or drains must be taken into account in order for the turf to fit properly.
It is also important to respect the drains in order to drain the water and avoid puddles.
Laying of turf
When laying the grass put all the pieces in the same direction, so that the surface acquires a uniform color (keep in mind that the hair of the grass will always be in the direction of the winding).
Next, you must work the joints of the artificial turf so that they are not marked (you can separate them by a couple of millimeters at most).
Once the turf is in place, the next step is to glue the different pieces together, and that is done with a bonding strip.
Gluing the pieces of turf to the belt
To place the band, the grass joints must be opened to both sides; some weight can be put on them to keep them bent.
The band should be placed so that it is in the center of the joint between the two pieces of turf.
Spread the band, apply PU glue and spread it with the help of a notched spatula.
When the band is glued, close the joint by dropping the sod over the glued band until they are tightly glued to the band.
It is important that the pieces of artificial turf are next to each other, without overlapping and without leaving a gap between them.
Fixing turf on concrete
To finish off the work (with the same glue as the joint or with single-component PU glue that can be applied with a cartridge gun) you should apply small dots or broken lines of glue on the floor, especially in the corners and on the edges, so that the grass does not lift.
It should not be completely glued, so that rainwater can run underneath.
This way, if one day you want to remove the grass for any reason, it can be easily done.
Finally, you will brush the artificial turf to raise its fiber.
