Can you imagine a technology that makes the grass absorb up to 12 degrees less on very hot days?
Feelgood® makes the grass much more comfortable to use in summer.
This is what Feelgood® does:
1
On very sunny days, it lowers the grass temperature by between 7 and 12 degrees.
2
When the grass receives a source of shade, the accumulated heat in that area dissipates within minutes.
3
By absorbing less heat, the overall feeling of the environment is also cooler.
38 degrees under the midday sun.
It’s scorching hot, and when you step out of the pool, your feet get burned on the artificial grass.
You always forget to grab your flip-flops. Not to mention your kids, who complain over and over because they can’t play on the grass… And when you have guests, even they mention it.
We know it’s no exaggeration. Most artificial grasses on the market get really hot. Really hot.
If the artificial grass you have at home burns your feet, or if you’re looking for artificial grass and have heard about this issue... this will definitely sound familiar. And we won’t lie to you: on very, very hot days, the grass does heat up. But it heats up like stone, like wood, like any surface that absorbs heat. It’s unavoidable.
We haven’t invented grass that doesn’t get hot, but we have created a solution that keeps it cooler on very hot days.
After extensive research, in 2012 we developed an exclusive additive that we incorporated into our fibers, allowing us to manufacture grass that reduces its temperature on very hot days.
That’s how we introduced Feelgood® technology into two specific models in our range, and after more than twelve years on the market, it remains the most requested technology by our customers.
Imagine how your pool time can change with grass that gets less hot:
Now you can step out of the pool without rushing and dry off in the sun while walking on the grass.
Now your kids run races, play ball, and do whatever they can imagine almost without you even noticing.
Now you invite your friends for a swim and a barbecue, with or without flip-flops.
How does Feelgood® work?
The sun sends a broad spectrum of light to the Earth, and part of that spectrum is absorbed by the atmosphere.
A portion of the radiation absorbed is called “near-infrared (NIR),” which, although invisible to us, we feel as heat.
All the power of the solar spectrum, including NIR, contributes to heating the artificial grass.
Grass with Feelgood® contains pigments that reflect the part of the spectrum we perceive as heat, resulting in a temperature decrease.
This image was taken with an infrared camera and shows how the temperature of the two grass samples differs considerably.
With Feelgood® artificial grass, you'll make the most of your garden even in the middle of August.
Normal artificial grass absorbs heat from the sun’s rays, which can lead to uncomfortable surface temperatures
Albergrass with Feelgood® technology refracts sunlight and dissipates heat into the atmosphere instead of absorbing it, resulting in cooler grass. A lawn that’s more comfortable to walk on sunny days
With the Feelgood® solution your lawn will be 7 to 12 degrees cooler than with other artificial grass.
If any questions come up, we’ve got the answers.
Does artificial grass with Feelgood® get hot?
Artificial grass with Feelgood® is made from plastic fibers that, due to the composition of their polymers, naturally attract heat, so it inevitably absorbs temperature and gets warm.
What sets it apart from other types of grass is that its fibers repel part of the heat they receive, meaning it absorbs less temperature than other artificial grass.
Can you feel the difference when stepping on grass with Feelgood® compared to regular artificial grass?
You won’t feel a difference to the touch, since when you step on artificial grass under direct sunlight, it can reach temperatures far higher than your body temperature. So, inevitably, you’ll feel the heat—even though Feelgood® grass may have reduced that temperature by up to 12 degrees.
However, the big advantage of Feelgood® grass is that as soon as something blocks direct heat (like opening an umbrella, a cloudy day, or shade from trees), it quickly releases the accumulated heat leaving your garden cool again in just a matter of minutes.
I’m unsure whether to choose artificial grass, tiles, or another type of flooring. Is there any option that heats up less?
Any outdoor flooring of this kind is made with materials resistant to weather, water, and the passage of time, so they tend to be very solid raw materials. Just as they are strong enough to withstand wear and tear, they also resist heat well, which is why all these surfaces absorb the outside temperature. This happens with ceramic, wood, stone, composite floors, and more.
When it comes to choosing grass, Felgood would be the best option on the current market.
Does Feelgood® lose its functionality over the years?
Feelgood® is completely resistant to the passage of time.
This is due to the manufacturing process we use to create this special fiber: Feelgood® is an additive added during the raw material mixing phase, in the polyethylene extrusion process, resulting in a fiber where this substance is permanently embedded.
Therefore, Feelgood® will continue to perform its function as long as the grass fibers remain intact.
