Things to keep in mind in the garden if you have children.
The garden is the favorite place in the house for children. In the garden they have space to play, run, hide and hide, all in the open air. The garden is the freedom of not having to be as careful as in the house.
Here are some ideas to make the garden a fun and safe place for them:
- Check the plants: find out if the plants you have in the garden are poisonous or toxic. Don’t panic, most of them are only poisonous if you eat them, but to avoid temptations it is better to remove them or put them out of reach of the kings of the house. We will do the same with those that prick like cactus or rose bushes.
- Put out of reach: keep gardening tools in a place where they cannot access, in this way we will avoid unnecessary scares. Do the same with fertilizers, insecticides, etc.
- Attentive to the sun: children’s skin is more sensitive to the harmful effects of the sun, so it is important to have shaded areas in the garden to protect them from the sun.
- Multiply the fun: it is good to have toys around the garden to stimulate their imagination. It is a good resource for them to create their own play spaces by placing a tent or a little house. From the age of five, children have the need to configure their own reference spaces.
- Take advantage of it for sports: the garden is the perfect place to stimulate the taste for physical activity and sports, so it is good to put a portable goal, a trampoline or a slide.
- They’ll end up rolling around: kids love to roll and tumble around in the garden. That’s why artificial turf is perfect for them, as they can roll around as much as they want without getting dirty, because there won’t be any mud or green stains on their clothes from rubbing against each other. So on an artificial turf surface it’s more fun (and cleaner) to play water balloon toss, or have soap bubble contests, or stage a Champions League final. In addition, artificial turf is a flatter surface (less risk of sprains) and more hygienic (no bugs).
If you have children and you want to use your garden as a play area all year round, artificial grass can be the best option.
